Attendance Note - prompt for parents for staff contact/support

A checkbox for parent view when inputting an attendance note that allows them to 'check' if they would like support or contact from the school regarding the absence. This would then trigger an alert to notify school staff and refer to relevant support staff. For example, a parent put in an attendance note for a student saying their father had passed away. Our staff did not know this or were able to offer support as the attendance notes aren't reviewed or monitored with almost 2,000 students on campus. e.g. "Would you like to notify relevant school support staff regarding this absence, or receive a response?"

I think that is a great idea

I am the attendance officer and I try to check attendance notes as often as I can but it is impossible with such a large cohort to check/follow up with everybody. Also the fact that parents can backdate attendance notes on days I've already checked attendance can be annoying as I don't typically see it

Megan BARTON suggest you set your attendance notes so that they all flag for approval - this way, regardless of the date they are submitted for, youll see them in the notes yo be approved where you can check and review/approved them.

Riki Wood (DLCS) that's not a bad suggestion. I can mention it next time I have a check-in meeting
