Currently, when a parent selects "Pay a portion now" in the School Fees payment screen, the amount field automatically defaults to the full outstanding balance.

While this behaviour may be technically correct, it can create confusion for parents who intend to make a partial payment. If the amount is not adjusted before proceeding to payment, the parent may unintentionally pay the full balance. When the outstanding balance is large, this can result in a significant unintended payment.

Suggested enhancement

When "Pay a portion now" is selected by Parents in the Parent Portal Action Centre for School Fees:

Leave the amount field blank by default.

Require the parent to enter the amount they wish to pay.

Consider updating the label from "Select amount to pay" to "Enter the amount you wish to pay" for additional clarity.
